After "Frida Kahlo–'Self Portrait'"
This is a art print of the 1948 self portrait of Frida Kahlo, using tints of mint green.
Frida Kahlo (July 6, 1907—July 13, 1954) was a native folk surrealist artist from Coyoacán, Mexico City in Mexico. She often incorporated elements of native culture, and symbolism in her work, to represent her chronic pain in life. Fun fact, she was bisexual and used this portrait to pay off her dental expenses.
I picked this specific self-protrait from 1948 because of two things. One, the texture of the Tehuana dress work with the prompt. Two, the painting has a sense of being trapped and being overwhelmed.
